With already more than 200 stores located in various Southern States the sports goods retailer is looking to cement its claim as one of the most popular retailers for countless sporting and outdoor goods – annual sales are already topping $4 billion!
New Store Opens in Greenville with Some Awesome Promotions!
Visitors already received a small preview of the upcoming store in Greenville when members of the Boys and Girls Club of Northeast Texas were given a fun shopping spree prior to the opening of the store on July 1st.
The thirty children were each rewarded with a $100 gift cards and were told to pick anything they fancied from the new store. This isn’t the only special deal Academy Sports + Outdoors were giving out, as the first 150 customers in line would be given a gift voucher worth anywhere from $20-$500!
The new store has is an impressive 64,000 square feet and is part of several new projects opening in the area.
Plans for New Store to Be Opened in Alabama Also Announced.
We suspect that this will excite residents of Florence, Alabama after it was recently announced that a brand new store would be getting built there, with an opening date set for some time 2017.
The new store will be constructed on the former location of Kmart at Cox Creek Parkway and Florence Boulevard and it is believed that around 100 jobs will be created as a result. The old Kmart will be getting destroyed as Academy Sports + Outdoors wishes to build anew on the land.
In a statement the company announced
"We're looking forward to opening next year, and being an active member of the Florence community for years to come,"
This will be the 15th store to open in the state of Alabama, and the store plans on offering a wide range of services as well as the usual range of sports and outdoor goods. Services such as scope mounting, line winding and spooling, and bore sighting are offered at many other Alabama-based locations and will be available at this upcoming location.
Not only that, but customers will be able to buy fishing and hunting licences from the store too.
